Hello, all!
After a terribly long delay, it is my pleasure to announce the return of the BCC Otakus' regular meetings!
Our first meeting of the Spring 2010 semester will be as follows:
When: February 25th, 2010
Time: 3pm (first meeting not likely to extend past an hour)
Where: BCC Melbourne Campus, Bldg. 1, Rm. 162
Alright! Awesome! What the heck took so long?
Well, for a long while, we didn't have a valid sponsor or a location, and finding those two were not as easy as you think.
What do I need for the first meeting?
Your valid student ID is first and foremost. You will NOT be granted entrance without it. I also suggest you bring a pen; there will be some paperwork to fill out.
Are we getting into the fun stuff at the first meeting?
Not exactly. Our first meeting will consist of introductions, explanation of club rules, potential anime series to watch, activity schedules, and our upcoming officer elections--essentially, stuff we HAVE to get out of the way first. The "fun stuff" (i.e. showings and activities) will start the following week, if all goes as planned.
Why did you choose that location?
Because there were no others available. Seriously. That's all we got. Take it or leave it.
Are meetings still gonna be at the same day and same time they were before?
Same day, yes: Thursday afternoons. But our time slot has been pushed back an hour; instead of 4pm to 6pm, it is now 3pm to 5pm.
Umm, yeah...Thursday's not a good day for me.
Sucks to be you. Majority rules, and the majority of previous members have rearranged their class schedules to make Thursdays free. In addition, Thursday afternoons are a time slot that works with our new sponsor, so we didn't have much of a choice.
You mentioned something about officer elections. Has our staff changed?
To a degree. I'll go over that in person.
I want to run for [enter officer position here]! How do I do that?
I will explain the election process and requirements on the 25th as well. Take note that all positions may not be open.
What if I have a question that hasn't been answered?
Ask it. I'll get to it before Thursday. ^_^
